Standard & Poor's to introduce Vix volatility to Canadian investors

Index provider Standard and Poor’s (S&P) is to launch a volatility index in Canada following the success of the S&P 500 Vix futures indexes in the US, which form the basis of $3 billion of exchange-traded notes (ETNs). The S&P/TSX 60 Vix Index is being created in partnership with TMX Group, which operates the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Montreal Stock Exchange.
