A huge amount of work has gone into meeting the various deadlines set by US and European regulators for the start of central clearing of credit default swaps. The next deadline may be one of the most difficult to meet, however.

The Operations Management Group, an industry body comprising 27 dealers, buy-side firms and industry associations, has pledged to roll out clearing services to buy-side firms by the middle of December - a date many feel may be a little too ambitious.
