Law firms staff up

Law firms obviously have none of the investment banks’ worries about the future of capital market business.

To illustrate this, three firms – Latham & Watkins, White & Case and Herbert Smith – hired new people last month to join their capital markets or structured finance teams in London.

Early in November, Latham & Watkins hired Chris McFadzean from Linklaters. McFadzean, whose background includes advising on capital markets deals and privatisations, joins the firm as a partner
