The last time France Telecom (FT) featured in the deal pages of Credit magazine was back in 2001 when its $16 billion multi-currency bond issue won our Deal of the Year award. Though those days may be consigned to the history books, the French telecom operator's EUR2 billion dual-tranche deal issued on October 6 is still the second largest transaction launched this year.
The offering forms part of the financing for the acquisition of 80% of Spanish mobile operator Amena for EUR6.4 billion
