MCI in fresh fraud fears

MCI, the bankrupt telecom giant formerly known as WorldCom, has finally won court approval to settle civil fraud charges with the payment of a record $750 million fine. But while the ruling is a milestone in the company’s efforts to emerge from bankruptcy protection, investors in MCI’s debt are still anxiously awaiting the outcome of investigations into a new set of fraud allegations against the beleaguered telecom company.
