Isda: Enron demise no reason for new regulations

There is no need for further regulation of the over-the-counter energy derivatives market, according to an International Swaps and Derivatives Association report on the bankruptcy of Enron published in April.

Despite calls from some quarters for increased government controls over the energy markets, Enron’s collapse was caused by failures of corporate governance rather than by derivatives, the Isda report says.
