Do you think niche/boutique fund administration will be able to survive the contraction and consolidation of the industry?

There are mixed views about the ability of smaller fund administrators to survive.

Charlie Woolnough at Fortis believes the decline in assets under management will force a number of smaller administrators out of the market, particularly if their clients disappear and they are unable to replace them.

John Alshefski at SEI agrees. He says the increasing demand on technology and infrastructure provided by administrators will put immense pressure on smaller fund administrators.
