BlackRock names Japan head

BlackRock’s Japan head

BlackRock has hired Masato Degawa as head of its Japan business. He will report to Rohit Bhagat, chairman of BlackRock Asia-Pacific.

Degawa was previously chief investment officer at SGAM Japan, and in July became CIO of the Japan office of Amundi, the merged SG and Crédit Agricole asset management business.

Degawa has also worked as a Japanese portfolio manager at BMO Financial Group, and as a fund manager and a senior analyst at Morgan Stanley.
