Fear of securitised products is creating opportunities, says M&G

UK investment firm insists ABS offers better value then unsecured bank debt, despite its damaged reputation.

Bond investors should seek safety in secured assets as long as the developed world remains gripped by a debt crisis, according to senior portfolio managers at M&G Investments.

Speaking at a press lunch in London on November 17, David Lloyd, head of institutional portfolio management, and senior fund manager Richard Ryan highlighted triple-A rated asset-backed securities as offering particularly good value.
