Merrill Lynch introduces energy efficiency index
Investment bank Merrill Lynch has introduced a new index, comprised of 40 companies from industry sectors that may benefit from the global drive to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions and the cost of energy.
Known as The Merrill Lynch Energy Efficiency Index, it is divided into four components - integrated plays with a focus on the capital goods sector; fuel efficiency in the automotive industry; building insulation; and energy-efficient solutions including products
