BIS opens representative office in Mexico
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has opened a representative office in Mexico City to serve as a centre for its activities in the Americas.
The office, headed by Gregor Heinrich, will have four staff and plans to improve the exchange of information and data in the region as well as co-ordinating meetings and seminars.
The BIS, whose secretariat is based in Basel, Switzerland, already has a representative office in Hong Kong. This office, which covers Asia and the Pacific, was opened in 1998.
