Eye-grabbing images of solid gold bars - this was Deutsche Bank's key ingredient in the extensive marketing campaign for its db Physical Gold EUR Hedged ETC in May this year.
The approach was carefully crafted, and based on a broad use of mediums, from traditional newspaper adverts to Google AdWords. The image of the solid gold bar was strewn across print and the web, carrying the hallmark: "The new gold standard made by Deutsche Bank."
