Mark leads the financial market infrastructure oversight and policy function at the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). He joined the RBA in 2012, after nine years at the Bank of England. Prior to becoming a central banker, Mark spent several years as a fund manager in the City of London.

Having worked on financial market infrastructure issues for more than a decade, Mark has published numerous articles and research papers on the subject. He also co-edited a book with Bank of England colleagues entitled The Economics of Large-value Payments and Settlement. Mark is a member of the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) and the CPMI-IOSCO Steering Group. He co-chairs the CPMI-IOSCO Standing Group responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures.
