Until the last few months, many managers could simply be exposed to emerging markets and make money. Many markets have been at elevated levels for some time which has made it a challenge for value investors to find undervalued assets until recently. But since the financial crisis, the easy money in emerging markets is over. Leveraged, high-beta strategies have proven to be unsuccessful in this market and investors are looking for emerging markets managers
