Richard Clarke prepares for the launch of his first hedge fund from his recently formed company, Clarke and Bartlett Asset Management

At the time of writing this piece, Richard Clarke is just five weeks away from the launch of his first independent hedge fund, the Clarke and Bartlett European Equity Fund, to be launched on 1 November 2001. However, he seems relaxed and jokes that Gartmore has cornered the market in hedge fund names with anything to do with Alpha, so he has opted for a fund name without gods or stars references that reflects the name of his new company, Clarke and Bartlett Asset Management.
