Amias Berman seeks HK licence, gets international one

Amias Berman, a fixed-income advisory, origination and brokerage firm formed earlier this year, is seeking approval from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to begin Hong Kong operations. The firm has just been granted regulatory approval for its international activities based in London by the UK Financial Services Authority, meaning it can start operating immediately.

The firm is evenly divided between London and Hong Kong, and has recruited a staff of 25 with an average industry
