Icap raises £3.3 million in annual charity day

Icap, the world’s largest inter-dealer broker, raised more than £3.3 million on its 10th annual charity day yesterday.

“Raising £3.3 million in a day for charities around the world is an amazing result,” said Michael Spencer, Icap chief executive. “It is astonishing to realise that we can make such a difference by donating the proceeds of one day's broking each year.”

Over the past 10 years, Icap has raised more than £13.3 million for a variety of charities around the world. Dealers tend to transfer their business to Icap on the charity days. Help the Aged, the Elton John Aids Foundation, the British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society and the Motor Neurone Disease Associationwere among the charities who will receive donations this year.
