Nomura Securities International has hired Peter Leonard to head the pass-through trading desk that trades mortgage-backed securities. He will also trade the 30-year conventional position.

Leonard joins from Bank of America, where he also headed pass-through trading and traded the 30-year conventional position. Based in New York, Leonard reports to Donald MacKinnon, head of structured credit trading and asset finance. Commenting on Leonard's hire, Najib Canaan, co-head of international fixed income, said: "[Leonard] is one of the most experienced and respected professionals in the pass-through area. His addition will serve to strenghten Nomura's ability to provide integrated financial solutions to our clients."
