Chris Giancarlo is tipped to be the next CFTC chairman

Christopher Giancarlo, the incoming acting chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), would propose sweeping changes to the derivatives execution rules in the US if he is nominated and confirmed as the permanent head of the agency.

"If I am honoured to be nominated and confirmed by the Senate as CFTC chairman, my priorities should come as no surprise," said Giancarlo, who published a white paper in 2015 that criticised the CFTC's "flawed implementation" of the Dodd-Frank
