Mifid II doomsday awaits energy firms, conference told

Speaking at Energy Risk Summit Europe, compliance officer at Shell International Trading & Shipping warns of “serious threat” posed to energy traders by Mifid II

Energy companies need to start planning urgently for the implementation of Mifid II – a package of European Union legislation that poses “a serious threat” to the energy trading industry, delegates at Energy Risk Summit Europe heard on October 1.

The final text of Mifid II, which consists of an updated directive and a regulation, was published on June 12 following a lengthy negotiating process
