Which EU banks hold the most SME exposures?

Danske Bank, Crédit Agricole, Group BPCE lead the field

European banks say loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are likely to decline in creditworthiness over the next year. Among top lenders in the region, Nordic giant Danske Bank, along with French giants Crédit Agricole and Group BPCE and UK lender Lloyds, have some of the highest percentages of these exposures in their corporate loan books.

Of 19 big European banks assessed by Risk Quantum, Danske Bank had the highest share of its corporate loan portfolio made up of SME exposures
