
Basel Committee continues to reject equity for the LCR

Hopes by some banks that the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision may eventually extend the list of eligible assets under the liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) to include certain equities appear to be dashed, with general secretary of the Basel Committee, Stefan Walter, insisting these instruments do not have the necessary characteristics to be included.
