Hedge Funds Review European Single Manager Awards 2015: The winners

Winners of the 15th edition of Hedge Funds Review European Single Manager Awards, which recognise the best of Europe's hedge fund managers, were announced at a gala dinner on May 21

The winners of the 15th edition of Hedge Funds Review European Single Manager Awards, which recognises the best of Europe's hedge fund managers, were recognised at a gala dinner on May 21.

Manny Roman, CEO of Man Group, received the lifetime achievement award, while Albourne Partners' Sam Lewis was recognised for his contribution to the industry and Peter Fletcher of PHF Capital collected the award for outstanding contribution to the industry by an institutional investor.

The award for best hedge fund group went jointly to Chenavari Investment Managers and to Kairos Investment Managers. Kairos also won the awards for best equity hedge alternative Ucits fund and for best new hedge fund. Chenavari was also named best directional hedge fund manager over three years.

Cantab Capital Partners was named hedge fund of the year, while Aperios Partners won the emerging manager of the year award. Aperios was also recognised as the best sub-$100 million hedge fund and Cantab for its outstanding investor relations team.

Best emerging fixed income hedge fund manager was given to La Française Investment Solutions.

Episteme Capital Partners was named best emerging global macro hedge fund manager, while Tendance Finance picked up the award for best sub-$100 million alternative Ucits fund, best alternative Ucits hedge fund and best emerging managed futures/CTA hedge fund manager.

Best long/short equity hedge fund went to Lyxor Asset Management's Capricorn Fund, while Henderson AlphaGen was named best event-driven hedge fund. The Cambridge Strategy won best foreign exchange hedge fund. Informed Portfolio Management collected the award for best global macro hedge fund.

Candriam Investors Group was recognised as best fixed income hedge fund. Best credit/distressed hedge fund went to Wye Tree Asset Management, while Saemor Capital picked up the award for best equity market neutral hedge fund.

Best managed futures/CTA went to Cantab Capital Partners and best multi-strategy to Capital Fund Management.

DB Platinum Advisors collected the award for best macro alternative Ucits fund and Omni Partners for most innovative hedge fund.

Best directional hedge fund manager over 10 years was given to North Asset Management and best non-directional hedge fund manager over 10 years went to Trafalgar Capital Management, which was also named best non-directional hedge fund manager over three years.

The award for outstanding contribution to alternative media services was given to Dr Stu, host of the N@ked Short Club on London's Resonance FM radio station.
