Technical problems affect LIFFE futures trading

Technical problems yesterday morning caused the London International Financial Futures and Options exchange to halt trading of its Euribor and CAC40 futures products.

Between 0700 BST and 1115 BST yesterday, all trading was halted. Trades that occurred before the suspension, which happened shortly after the exchange opened at 0700, were invalidated. Trading resumed at 1115, after the problems had been resolved. LIFFE management refused to give details of the failure, which they described as a "technical problem".
