UK structured products market grows 20% on back of increased risk appetite

UK investors regain their taste for risk

The number of structured products released in the UK rose by nearly 20% last year as issuers launched 464 products compared to 390 in 2009.

The increase can attributed entirely to structured capital-at-risk products (Scarps), which saw a 40% increase from 179 to 253, according to structured products consultancy and valuations provider Future Value Consultants (FVC).
