BarCap praised as global volumes recover in 2009

The global retail structured products market made a strong recovery at the end of 2009 and is poised to return to – and possibly exceed – previous highs in the near future, according to research published by US consultancy Greenwich Associates.

Barclays Capital and JP Morgan led global penetration in 2009, capturing 45% of the market between them when measured in terms of relationships with third-party distributors. HSBC attained top spot in the US with 79% market penetration, followed by BarCap
