Eurex to go head-to-head with CBOT

European derivatives exchange Eurex plans to launch a US exchange that will compete directly with the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).

Esma is required to write much of the technical standards for Emir by June 30 – but the regulation has only just been finalised, and the authority had just 75 full-time staff at the end of 2011 (www.risk.net/2142483). Will it meet the deadline? Should Esma be given more resources?
