Conducter provides a package covering governance, compliance, risk register, internal audit, process and controls, documentation, roles and responsibilities, and key indicator reporting. The web-hosted system is ‘wizard-based'. As well as the package offering, the modules can be purchased for custom adaptation. The system includes a ‘kernel controller' for the change management of an internal model, although Conducter does not provide the calculation kernels themselves. Conducter's technology uses Java with a zero footprint browser.
To its GraphTalk A.I.A policy administration system, CSC has added improved automation and flexibility in group risk business lines and a new tool to simplify configuration of marketing product variations. The VP/MS product life cycle management solution is now offered with pre-configured product content and a new web user interface generator including support for mobile devices. The reinsurance solution, SICS, has been enhanced to provide better support to syndicate business in the London Market. SICS Cede, the company's product for outbound reinsurance, has been enhanced to enable greater flexibility and automation. CSC has also launched a solution for pension auto-enrolment to enable UK insurers to comply with new regulations.
The company launched the Sceneco economic-scenario generator in July, which produces real-world and risk-neutral economic scenarios covering equities, risk-free yield curves, corporate yields, macroeconomic variables, bond indexes, real estate indexes, multiple currencies and bespoke variables. EMTech also updated its Risk# risk modelling platform to include clustering of data from several units of measures, threshold selection, trend analysis, external data analysis, and additional copula types for risk aggregation. Reporting functionality now links computational results to reports, allowing the dynamic updating of reports. Users can also specify both flat and hierarchical dependency structures.
Version 4.0 of the Cognity risk management and portfolio construction platform includes fat-tailed ‘what-if' scenario analysis for tail-loss and tail-return comparisons when adding and removing positions or adjusting allocations. The caching of previously-run scenarios enables users to quickly analyse the impact of potential changes simultaneously across multiple scenarios. Meanwhile, a tempered stable distribution model measures tail risk over both short- and long-term horizons using a single model. The reporting framework now features right tail analytics, and factor contribution to risk reporting includes non-linear factor contribution to expected tail-loss statistics.
Finsbury Solutions provides a spreadsheet control methodology and a spreadsheet management system. Spreadsheet Workbench allows insurers to create a risk-assessed inventory of business-critical spreadsheets, and identify linked spreadsheets and other data dependencies. Spreadsheets can be assessed for accuracy, completeness and appropriateness, while change management and approval workflows can be automated and a spreadsheet control framework appropriate for Solvency II delivered.
Interactive Data has launched Vantage, a web-based system for viewing and managing fixed-income data. The tool displays relevant files, including end-of-day evaluated prices immediately upon their release, as well as tolerance and magnitude reports. After storing daily price-change tolerance settings, Vantage displays the portfolio in a colour-coded heat map, filtered and sorted according to clients' criteria. Users can visualise the company's evaluated prices alongside relevant market information, including anonymous trades, quotes, dealer runs and market posts, and access Interactive Data platforms including FundRun, 360View, FTS and the Evaluated Pricing Challenge Portal.
Recent versions of the Colline web-based collateral management system include a separate straight-through processing module that automates margin calls based on user-defined rules, as well as a CCP clearing module that supports margin calculations for the major clearers. To its Lisa web-based liquidity risk application, the company has added support for structural funding ratios, as well as liquid asset buffer monitoring showing two-week and three-month highs and lows, and survival days with and without collateral. Meanwhile, version 5 of the Reporter regulatory reporting system adds a web portal, along with workflow, dashboards and analysis and reconciliation tools.
