ABN Amro cuts op RWAs by €1bn

Dutch lender ABN Amro reduced its operational risk-weighted assets (RWAs) by 5% in Q2 following a model update. 

Total op RWAs stood at €18.8 billion ($21 billion) at end-June, down from €19.8 billion the prior quarter. They are now at their lowest level since Q4 2016.

The quarterly reduction contributed to a lower overall RWA total for the bank in Q2, of €106.6 billion, down 1.3% on Q1 but up 2% on the year-ago quarter. Its ratio of Common Equity Tier 1 capital to RWAs stood at 18%, flat on
