Exchange glitches fuel data debate

Two recent European exchange glitches intensified the debate over whether market participants should use consolidated feeds of European equity data, including data from multilateral trading facilities, as opposed to relying on data from primary exchanges.

The London Stock Exchange experienced a technical hitch at 3:04pm local time on Monday, November 9, which stopped trading and market data distribution for roughly 8% of the securities traded on its TradElect platform, including UK, Italian and
