The oil & gas markets have been transformed over the past three years with market prices drifting out of correlation, supply and demand fundamentals driving oil prices, and a glut of unconventional gas supplies in the US flattening prices.

The gas glut is expected to persist for several years. Despite this, pressure to move further away from oil indexation will remain, especially for new long-term contracts according to the International Energy Agency's (IEA) World Energy Outlook 2010 report.
