Can blockchain help the uncleared derivatives market?

Blockchain has been hailed by a number of industry figures as a way to radically change the uncleared derivatives settlement process, however, senior market infrastructure experts say multiple obstacles must be overcome before the technology can be put into practice.

Blockchain technology is being explored for multiple uses in derivatives markets, including reconciliation, confirmations and segregation. Some also believe it can speed up the settlement of uncleared derivatives margin payments
