SG strengthens equity derivatives flow products sales

SG, the investment banking unit of France's Société Générale has made a number of appointments within its equity derivatives flow products sales team.

Thomas Friedberger and Harvey White both join SG’s London office. Friedberger previously worked at Goldman Sachs in London and is rejoining the bank at which he started his career in Milan in 1996. White has spent the past 17 years at UBS in London.

Ana Guijarro Macias, previously a colleague of Friedberger at Goldman Sachs, joins SG’s Madrid office. Juan Manuel Gonzalez Mantero joins her in Madrid, arriving from Merrill Lynch’s equity derivatives sales team. All four European recruits report to Yannick Mellegol, head of flow sales for institutional investors and asset managers.

Walter Lamerton and Mark Brown join the New York office, reporting to Dan Fields, joint manager of flow sales. Lamerton joins from a similar role at Merrill Lynch in New York, while Mark Brown joins from Lehman Brothers.

The appointees will mainly be responsible for selling equity derivatives flow products to institutional investors and hedge funds, SG said.

“We will shortly be announcing further strategic hires,” said Eric Lepine, global head of sales for flow and listed products in SG’s equity derivatives division.
