CME hires Wong to head Asian office

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange has hired CF Wong, previously in charge of ABN Amro's Asian futures operation, to head its Asian office in Tokyo.

Wong, who takes the title managing director for Asia, will report to Rick Redding, the CME's managing director of products and services. He was previously chief executive of ABN Amro Asia Futures, before moving to Singapore-based risk management consulting company Octagon as an adviser to Singaporean and Chinese banks.

Craig Donohue, chief executive of the exchange, said Asia was providing massive growth in exchange-traded derivatives: "Asia represents enormous long-term growth opportunities for the CME as we successfully execute our global strategy, and CF and his team will build even more momentum for international business development."
