At WMG, Richardson will be responsible for the risk platform underpinning the hedge fund strategies being established there, and he will build up a derivatives structuring group. WMG has been established by Dalman to provide a comprehensive range of alternative investment services, encompassing a spectrum of hedge funds, funds of funds, incubation, research and execution services, and structuring of fund-linked securities.
Richardson has 15 years' experience in the derivatives markets of Europe and the US, first at Bankers Trust then ING Barings, and since 1998 with Commerzbank. It was there that he built up the equity and fixed-income derivatives business, which became the largest profit earner for the investment bank. He was also a member of the AIS investment committee, bringing his market knowledge to bear on the asset allocation of Commerzbank’s $2 billion fund of hedge funds, Comas.
