OM appoints Asia-Pacific head

OM Technology has appointed Paul Bennett as president for the Asia-Pacific region, reports RiskNews' sister publication, Dealing With Technology .

Bennett joins from the International Securities Exchange, where he was senior vice-president for market operations. He has 25 years' experience in financial markets and IT, including time at the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), where he managed the project to migrate ASX options products to an electronic market.

Bennett will relocate from New York to Sydney to assume his new position on August 1, 2004, reporting to Klas Ståhl, president of OM Technology.

OMHex, the entity formed from the merger of OM and the Helsinki Stock Exchange (Hex) in autumn 2003, recently announced that Kristina Schauman will assume the position of chief financial officer, vacated by the departure of Per Nordberg on November 1. Schauman currently serves as head of treasury at OMHex. In her new role, she will be a member of the OMHex executive team and will report directly to Magnus Böcker, president and chief executive officer.
