New chairman and derivatives head for NYSE Liffe

Hugh Freedberg will succeed André Villeneuve as chairman of London-based derivatives exchange NYSE Liffe.

Freedberg is currently head of global derivatives at NYSE Liffe US, the US derivatives business of NYSE Euronext, and will be based in London for his new role.

Garry Jones, currently executive director of business development and strategy at NYSE Liffe, will assume Freedberg's previous responsibilities.

Villeneuve is to retire as chairman following six years in the job and will leave the firm. All changes will take place on May 1.
