Ex-Bear staff leave JP Morgan only two months into their jobs

Jeff Mayer and Craig Overlander are departing JP Morgan after being appointed to senior positions at the bank in early April.

They were co-heads of fixed income at Bear Stearns before JP Morgan took over the bank in March. During a resulting senior management reshuffle described in an internal memo dated April 4, Mayer and Overlander were named JP Morgan’s vice-chairmen of the investment banking division.

They plan to leave once the merger of the two banks has closed, which is expected to be the start of June.
