Credit Suisse hires Ryan as head of securities

Michael Ryan, co-head of equities at Goldman Sachs, is joining Credit Suisse later this year as head of securities.

In his new role, Ryan will be responsible for the bank’s global securities businesses and be a member of the investment bank’s management committee. He will be based in New York and report to Brady Dougan, chief executive of the investment bank. Fixed income and equity heads, respectively Jim Healy and Tony Ehinger, will report to Ryan.

Michael Ryan held a number of senior positions at Goldman Sachs during his 18 years there. His appointment comes after Credit Suisse made top-level changes to the management of its equities division in September 2006, after sizable losses in revenue.
