New forex sales chief for Citi

Citigroup has made Anu Jayanti global head of foreign exchange sales in New York. The move marks a promotion for Jayanti, who was previously global head of leveraged sales and regional head of forex for North America at the bank.

In this newly created position, she takes on responsibility for the design and execution of the bank's foreign exchange sales strategy, and reports both to global head of sales Steve Bowman and global head of forex Jeff Feig. Meanwhile, Bernie Sinniah, global head of corporate sales, Philippe Illien, global head of real-money sales and Marion Lang, global head of bank sales, will report to her.Jayanti joined Citigroup in 2001 and developed its global leveraged investor foreign exchange business, creating the first forex global sales team. "Under Anu's leadership, our revenues and volumes in the forex leveraged investor space have grown significantly," read an internal memo by Bowman and Feig. "Since 2004, Anu has also managed the North American region across function." Before Citigroup, Jayanti worked at UBS, Credit Suisse, Bankers Trust, JP Morgan and Salomon Smith Barney.
