Hi Peter, Remember me? We spent a fascinating weekend in Amboseli, Kenya, in November 1984, while covering an assignment in Dar-es-Salaam. I was typing up my diaries for the period and decided to look you up on the Net. I came across your piece on September 11, and found it moving and superbly written, the best first-hand account (of many) I've read of that momentous day. I was driving through France that day with my wife when we were overtaken by a carload of students yelling "Yippee! World War III has begun!" We thought they were high on dope, but when we got to our destination everyone was glued to TV.Anyway, congratulations on a wonderful piece of writing, and Good Luck!
