Industry to make 11th hour plea over Emir scope

A group of industry associations is planning a last-ditch appeal to Michel Barnier, commissioner for internal market and services at the European Commission (EC), for detailed open-access requirements to be added to the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (Emir). As it stands, Emir's provisions apply solely to over-the-counter derivatives markets.
