Ratings industry urged to follow code

Rating agencies are back in the spotlight after the corporate treasury associations of France, the UK and the US recommended a code of conduct for the ratings industry. The Association Française des Trésoriers d’Entreprise, Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) and the Association of Financial Professionals believe a single global proposal would improve rating industry practice.

The rating agencies have suffered significant criticism in the past two years, most recently the Parmalat scandal
