Offshore legal counsel has larger role in post 2008 hedge fund world

In the aftermath of 2008, the role of offshore and the offshore legal firms have come into sharp focus. Litigation going through offshore courts, particularly in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands, has often helped to clarify documentation. Equally, some of the judgements have given fund managers, investors and their legal counsel pause for thought.
