Bart Chilton, former commissioner with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has joined law firm DLA Piper as a senior policy adviser.

He will work with the company's global swaps practice in the Washington, DC, office, advising clients on new derivatives regulations stemming from the US Dodd-Frank Act, the firm said in a statement.

Chilton, a Democrat, left the CFTC in March. His six-year tenure at the agency was marked by his outspoken criticism of Wall Street banks and his suppo
