People: Nomura hires Cottle as EMEA fixed income chief

Nomura has named Gary Cottle as its new head of fixed income for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Cottle will be based in London, and reports to Steve Ashley, global head of fixed income, and John Phizackerley, chief executive for EMEA.

Cottle’s arrival is the latest in a long series of personnel moves in the bank’s macro products group, which was set up in July 2011 to bring rates and foreign exchange under one roof. In January this year, group head Steve Ashley was promoted to global
