Citadel hires derivatives portfolio manager

Thomas Vergnaud has joined Chicago-based hedge fund Citadel as a portfolio manager with responsibility for derivatives strategy.

Previously, he was a director and head of European single-stock and index equity derivatives trading in Dresdner Kleinwort's London office. He joined Dresdner Kleinwort in May 2003, having spent four years at Deutsche Bank as a director and senior trader in equity single-stock derivatives.

He will be based in London and will report to Patrik Edsparr, the firm's European chief executive and global head of fixed income.
