When the bank revealed the fraud on January 24, Christophe Mianné was demoted from the position of head of global markets, replacing Francois and reassuming a position he had held until January 2008. In the raft of appointments announced on February 5, and which took effect from February 1, Sofiéne Haj-Taieb was named as Mianné’s deputy.

Haj-Taieb remains in charge of Financial Engineering, including Lyxor, a role he assumed in 2005. Haj-Taieb joined SG in 1996 to work in complex product pricing
