BarCap’s Jenkins out, US focus in

Gary Jenkins has stepped down as global head of Barclays Capital’s credit research department, after Barclays Capital effectively asked him to take a demotion to European head of credit research. He had been with the bank for 17 years.

The move happened just before Easter, when Mark Howard, former head of credit research at Lehman in New York agreed to join Barclays Capital as global head of credit research. It appears likely that the decision to hire someone in to replace Jenkins was made out
