RenCap takes Dresdner global debt capital markets head

Petri Kivinen, London-based global head of debt capital markets at Dresdner Kleinwort, will join emerging markets investment bank Renaissance Capital in September.

Kivinen, who will move to Moscow, will be responsible for all the bank’s fixed-income products globally. In his new role he will report to Andrew Cornthwaite, Moscow-based co-head of investment banking and finance. He had been with Dresdner since 2002, after moving from Credit Suisse.

RenCap has recently made a number of fixed-income hires. In January, the bank announced a joint venture with Royal Bank of Scotland to provide currency, interest rate and credit derivatives to Russian corporate and institutional clients.

Kivinen’s role at Dresdner has been filled by two former colleagues, Jörg Patzenhauer and Raymond Harp. Patzenhauer was formerly head of debt capital markets origination, directly running origination in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from Frankfurt. Harp was previously head of debt capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in London.

The two are now co-heads of global debt capital markets and report to Dresdner’s head of global finance, Bertrand Pinel. They retain their old responsibilities and remain based in Frankfurt and London respectively.
